We are an Elder-run church, meaning that our leadership and governance are guided by a group of experienced and spiritually mature individuals. These elders are entrusted with the responsibility of providing spiritual oversight, guidance, and care for our congregation. Our elders are:

Steve Howell

Elder

Steve is husband to Susan Howell and is the father of five grown children and many grandchildren. Steve serves as the principal elder and along with his wife Susan, has been serving the Lord faithfully for many years. Steve brings a very mature oversight to the Texas House of Prayer and we are very thankful to be in relationship with he and Susan.

Dustin Lewis

Elder

Hey, I’m Dustin—husband to Stephanie and dad to five amazing kids: Caleb, Brenna, Mitchell, Raylan, and Cashel. Life’s full around here, and I love it. You’ll usually find me cooking something up, working out, playing cards, or just goofing off with the kids.

I’ve been a believer my whole life, but in recent years, my walk with the Lord has grown deeper and more intentional. I’m learning that growth comes through truly desiring Him and being faithful to what He asks of me. I’m not perfect, but I’m being refined—and that’s the journey.

My heart is for the Church to be united in Jesus and grounded in His truth. That’s where we thrive as churches – rooted and grounded as The Church Jesus is building.

Jason Tate

Elder

I am the husband of the beautiful Kaiti Tate and father of eight, yes you read that right, eight- beautiful, goofy, smart, fun, energetic, and sometimes trying children. My children at the at the time of writing this range from fifteen years old and younger. (Yes, we own a t.v. and yes we know what causes this! Ha!)

I enjoy doing most all things outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. It is a pleasure taking my children on any and all adventures. Many men love to get away without their kiddos and I must admit I occasionally do too, but I enjoy it more when they can go with me and we can partake in these adventures together.

The most important aspect of who I am though is that I am a believer in Jesus Christ and I am thankful that He calls me friend. I serve as an overseer at Texas House of Prayer in Alvarado, a little town south of Fort Worth. I love seeing people come into the knowledge of all that God has done for them in Christ.
